- The Accessibility for Manitobans Act outlines a clear and proactive process to identify, remove and prevent barriers in key areas of daily living.
- The legislation requires Manitoba organizations of 1 or more to have an accessibility plan
- Public sector organizations must create an Accessibility Plan beginning in 2016.
- The standards which must be met are:
- Customer Service – in effect November 1, 2015
- Employment Accessibility
- Information and Communications
- Built Environment
- Transportation
